Environmental Action Bobcaygeon has a successful track record in environmental improvement projects in Bobcaygeon. We propose to develop and maintain the newly created Wilderness Park in Bobcaygeon. This 8 acre forested property is owned by the City of Kawartha Lakes and is located at the end of Wilderness Park Road. Through consultation and cooperation, the City has agreed to allow Environmental Action Bobcaygeon to develop this new park for the enjoyment of the local community and the visiting public.

The park will be open to hiking, cycling, cross country skiing, and nature interpretation. It is hoped that in time the park will be expanded in size and linked to other hiking/cycling trails in the community.

Volunteering at Wilderness Park

Wilderness Park is managed and maintained by volunteers. EAB has enlisted over 50 volunteers in the area that are interested in assisting in this project. As well, Bobcaygeon Public School, Kawartha Field Naturalists, Kawartha Conservation, and others have been invited to participate in the various stages of development of the new park.
